A note from the Owner:
In the episode "Turn Left" in the fourth season of the British Sci-Fi series Doctor Who, the show presents two alternate realities based on whether a character turns left or right while driving. Some may think that life is too complex to have defining moments and that the decision to turn left or right is too simple to have an impact on one's overall life. I am not one of those people. Nine years ago I had my turn left moment. (And like Donna Noble, I chose to turn left).
I was standing outside of my hotel, in Earl's Court London. I had a choice, follow half of my school group heading to a pub (turn right) or follow the other half of my school group heading to Tesco (turn left). I had friends in the first group and knew few in the second group. But my need for more batteries controlled and I chose to turn left. Little did I know that in that second group would be my future best friend. She is the Lucy to my Ethel. (I am not the feisty red head in the duo and I'm okay with it). She encouraged me to self publish my first book. She helped me find an editor and designed the first covers for my self-published books. She spent hours helping me get my books ready.
Not only that, but she introduced me to the man of my dreams. For nine years she's been my best friend and constant source of support. When I began this venture she was my first choice to help me.
I do not know where I would be today if I had not chosen to turn left on that street in London nine years ago, but I know I would not be the person I am today had I not chosen to turn left.
